Hi this is ralph from debacle plumbing Here we are in a client’s home in Billerica massachusetts doing a gas hot Air furnace replacement We found this Furnace that he had in his closet in the Basement had a severely Corroded heat exchanger And flue pipe that was corroded My son michael and i had to Get the old furnace out And re-pipe the exhaust for the existing Water heater To code The Piping was very corroded for it as you Can see in this little video here just Severely corroded up and on the back Side of it that you couldn’t really see It was completely cracked So the flu exhaust was just escaping Into the house creating a very dangerous Carbon monoxide problem In this photo here you can see this is The outlet of the Exhaust for the furnace and it was Severely corroded Also the airflow was restricted in the Old evaporator coil for the ac so the ac Couldn’t have been working very well With the insulation like that There’s a little bit more of the old Furnace inside the burner compartment And then this is once we have the top
Out you can see All the corrosion inside of the heat Exchanger This is a very dangerous situation where You can have carbon monoxide Going through your ductwork and flue Gases getting up into the house creating A very dangerous situation Now this was a difficult closet i was Able to get behind it and get exhaust Pipes and air intake pipe For the new high efficient york affinity 97.5 efficient Modulating gas furnace that we installed There’s a picture of the Rotted and cracked exhaust pipe that was On that furnace that was unbelievable That the people weren’t getting sick Now we’ve got the new equipment in Getting it in place and getting ready For our master sheet metal technician Sid dirky to come in and fit up the new Transitions to get this Unit up and running My son mike is putting together The evaporator coil on top of the Furnace there is sids offset for the Supply Plenum getting the supply duct we had us Shift the furnace over a little bit To make it fit so that the new air bare High efficient High capacity air filter cabinet would Fit
