This was a job we did in Chelmsford for a homeowner that wanted the entire homes heating, & cooling systems upgraded. Multiple different systems were used. For the hot water production we removed old gas natural draft vented steel water heater and installed a Navien High Efficient 95% gas NPE-240A2 tankless gas water heater. With a whole house Aqua-Pure 904 series water filter to protect the plumbing system. Then we added a Samsung Ductless high Efficient Heat Pump / AC unit for single zone in-law apartment. That was previously heated by a gas ventless fireplace that was leaking CO into the in law apartment. We then replaced two 80% efficient gas furnaces with old R-22 refrigerant AC systems. One in the basement for the main house and the other in a small attic area above the master bedroom. We then installed two separate York Affinity 97.5% efficient modulating gas furnaces with high efficient Heat Pumps by Ecoer with Ecobee WiFi smart thermostats. Which paired together allow maximum efficiency. So when its 30ºF outside or above the Heat pumps run to heat the home. When the outside temperature drops below 30ºF the gas modulating York Affinity furnaces take over to maximize efficiency for the homeowner. Heat Pump Efficiency vs Outside Temperature
Exploring Heat Pump Efficiency vs Outside Temperature When considering the efficiency of a heat pump, one crucial factor that comes into play is the impact of outside temperature on its performance. The relationship between outside temperature and heat pump efficiency is a critical aspect that directly influences the heating and cooling capabilities of these systems.
